OYO NIPR ORGANISES ROAD SHOW TO CREATE AWARENESS FOR THE WORLD PUBLIC RELATIONS FORUM

Members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Oyo State Chapter, today, joined the rest of other States Chapters to simultaneously hold Road Show as a way of sensitizing and mobilizing members of the public, Professionals, Practitioners, Government, Leaders, Policy Makers, business tycoons and other Stakeholders to participate and register for the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), tagged 'Abuja 2026.'

The road show, which was informed by the directives of the National President of NIPR and the Chairman in Council, Dr . Ike Neliaku and the National Planning Committee of 2026 WPRF, took participants who included PR Practitioners, Students and other Stakeholders round the major streets of Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.

The Road Show kick started from NTA, Agodi, lbadan and terminated at the entrance of the State Government, Secretariat, lbadan with members adorned in a colourful NIPR branded T-shirts and caps.

The Road Show was in a carnival-ike manners as participants entertained members along the road while Band boys supplied songs which added colours to the event.

Receiving the members of NIPR. Oyo State Chapter and other participants who converged for the Road Show on the premises of the NTA, lbadan, the Zonal Director, NTA, lbadan Network Center, who was represented by the Principal Admin and Public Relations Officer of the Station, Mrs Petra Gamra, commended the roles of NIPR in Nation building and lauded the efforts of the National President, Dr. Ike Neliaku and the Governing Council for winning the competitive bid to host this year's WPRF, Abuja 2026.

He assured NIPR of NTA support as strategic media Partner of WPRF Abuja 2026.    

Also speaking shortly before the commencement of the Road Show, the Acting Chairman, NIPR, Oyo State Chapter, Mr. Goke Adelakun, mnipr, thanked the Authorities of NTA, lbadan Zonal Network Center for the publicity support being extended to the NIPR at the State level.

Mr Adelakun equally gave kudos to other media organizations like FRCN, Nigerian Tribune and other Online Publishers who were also on ground to give adequate coverage to the programme.    

The Oyo NIPR Acting Chairman used the opportunity to disclose that Nigeria would be hosting more than 126 Countries, representatives of international organizations like UNICEF, World Bank, World Trade Center, European Union, African Union, Leaders of Some Countries, Academia, Communicators from the 15th to 21st November 2026 at Transcorps Hilton, 

He added that the theme of the WPRF Abuja 2026 is " Responsible Communication: The voice of the World."

He reaffirmed that it would be an opportunity to showcase the culture, tradition and tourism potentials of the country besides putting Nigeria on the global map.  

Mr. Adelakun also used the medium to appeal to individuals, Corporate bodies and Government to assist and sponsor members of the lnstitute so that they would be able to register and attend the event which he described as one in life time opportunity. 

He equally enjoined members to go to the website www.wprf2026.niprng.org.ng and register because of its intended benefits.

While appreciating members after the road show exercise, the Chairman of WPRF, Abuja 2026, Oyo State Chapter, Pastor Ayotunde Ayodiran, thanked members and other Stakeholders for responding to the clarion call of the lnstitute, adding that they would not be forgotten if sufficient fund is raised to support the dreams of some members to attend the WPRF, Abuja 2026.
